Activate Care in the News: Influencing health disparities in Spanish-speaking communities

Written by Activate Care Staff

Our very own Alejandro Gutierrez, Team Lead here at Activate Care, is a huge asset in supporting our customers. He is also committed to making the healthcare system easier to navigate non-English speakers; particularly the Spanish-speaking community.

Inspired by his time in St. Louis where he saw firsthand the inequities that so many people face every day, Alejandro decided to pursue public health to make a difference in the world and help those who lack the opportunity to be physically, mentally, and behaviorally healthy.

He was recently featured in a Healthcare Global article where Leila Hawkins captured his thoughts around the power technology can provide in the public health space. He reviews how the healthcare industry can show Spanish-speakers that we care by creating the opportunity to communicate with healthcare providers in their native language.

Alejandro recently hosted a webinar alongside Activate Care's VP of Product, Katie Young, where they discussed this topic further, along with technology's impact on the disparities that have been exacerbated by COVID-19.
