More than 600 leaders in Boston's digital health community gathered yesterday to celebrate the inaugural season finale of PULSE@MassChallenge and to honor the first cohort of 31 digital health start-ups accepted to the program.

Activate Care was honored with the People's Choice Award from MassChallenge, the Massachusetts Competitive Partnership, and event attendees. Accepting the award, Dr. Narath Carlile, Activate Care CMIO, thanked our Program Champions, Cerner and Humana, for their support, and our customers like Boston Medical Center, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and Aetna who are doing things differently to improve health and healthcare for patients and families in Massachusetts and across the country.

The night's four other winners included:

  • 3Derm, a teledermatology triage system
  • Rendever, a virtual reality platform for elderly care
  • Twiage, a telemedicine platform for first-responders and emergency departments
  • SyncThink, a cognitive screening tool for concussions

Governor Charlie Baker keynoted the event, applauding the community's commitment to innovation and celebrating the many ways that start-ups try to "do things differently in healthcare - which is what the PULSE program and everyone in the room is all about."

Dr. Jeffrey Leiden, Chairman, President and CEO of Vertex Pharmaceuticals, said "tonight's winners clearly prove the impact of an ecosystem coming together to support its newest members and the tremendous innovations that can emerge from that community to improve human health.”
